Release notes for Navigate Sprint 7.1.39, released 14 April 2026. This update refreshes the login page, introduces the NavBot AI assistant, redesigns the student site, and adds a range of employer, placement and opportunity improvements.

1. Refreshed the Navigate login page for staff and students

We have given our login page a facelift. The Single Sign On login process remains the same. Click on Login using Microsoft or Login using Google depending on your college, then add your college email and password to access your Navigate account.

2. Added NavBot to both the staff and student sites

Staff and students can access the NavBot AI tool directly from their Navigate platform. NavBot accesses resources from the Training Hub and other support documents to answer questions, provide step-by-step guides, and suggest solutions. Just click on the link to chat, or close the prompt box down using the x. Click on NavBot at any time to reopen the prompt box.

3. Redesigned the student's site

  • Improved ‘My Activity Hours’ on the ‘Welcome Back’ home page: the home page has been refreshed, making it clearer to students how well they are progressing towards their target hours and improving engagement. The data populating this information has not changed.
  • Refreshed ‘My Profile’ and added ‘My Activity Hours’ data: the My Profile module has been refreshed, with My Activity Hours added as a second point for students to identify the progress they are making towards their target hours.
  • Redesigned ‘My Timeline’ for mobile: the My Timeline module format has changed to make it more user-friendly on a mobile phone.
  • Organised ‘My Placements’ into progress order: placements are now filtered into status to make it easier to identify the most current live placement.
  • Updated the ‘Link Evidence’ pop-up in the Targets module: in My Targets, the Linked Evidence pop-up has been refreshed in line with the new My Timeline look.
  • Changed the process for adding pictures and increased accepted file types: to ensure smooth operation, all attachments, including photographs, must be added using Choose File in the Evidence section of the activity record. The text box will not allow pictures to be added, and a note to inform students of this has been added.

4. Added ‘+ Add Activity’ to the Quick Links option

An + Add Activity shortcut has been added to the Quick Links menu. This allows staff to add an activity to an individual student record and link it to targets without having to click into the student record. Once the student's name is added, their targets display in the activity record.

5. Extended the Activity flyout to link Employer Engagement activity to an employer

We have added an Employer field to the Activity record. When an Employer Engagement activity type is selected, a new Employer field is displayed. Employers in the current employer database can be selected and attached to the activity record. This is available in both the staff and student site.

6. Added an ‘Activities’ tab to the employer record

We have added an Activities tab to the employer record, displaying the activity data linked to the employer via the new employer field in the Activity record. The data shows:

  • Activity Type
  • Total Activity Hours
  • Number of Unique Students
  • Number of Unique Activities

7. Changed the ‘Select Archived Employers’ filter to only show archived employers

In the Employer module, the Select Archived Employers filter now only displays archived employers. This allows colleges to identify easily if an employer has been archived.

8. Added a ‘Role Title’ field to work placement records

We have added a Role Title field to the Work Placement record to match the T Level Industry Placement record. This is not a mandatory field but allows colleges to set a clear role for a student's placement.

9. Enabled a click-through link to manage opportunity applications

We have updated the ‘Opportunities with applications to review’ circle to only display applications to be managed by the selected Opportunity Approver. The Review all applications link at the bottom of the tile displays all opportunity applications to be reviewed.

10. Miscellaneous fixes

  • Fixed an issue around how the Reflection Coach is called on the Tutor site.
  • Resolved an issue where HTML was breaking the Employer Goal loading.
  • Improved handling to prevent errors when switching between Activities in the Timeline.
  • Fixed an issue where description text was duplicated on Activity and Journal flyouts.
  • Resolved a problem whereby the Save wasn't flagged after content was changed on a target.
