Created by Chris Rowe, Modified on Fri, 12 Jun at 1:06 PM by Chris Rowe

A guide to the T Level Enrolments report in Navigate, which gives an overview of student progress towards their T Level Industry Placement, evidences completion of mandatory elements, and highlights students missing targets or placements.

The T Level Enrolments report provides:

  1. An overview of individual student progress towards achievement of their T Level Industry Placement, including hours, progress towards Learning Outcomes, and reviews.
  2. Evidence of the completion of mandatory elements of each T Level Industry Placement (Due Diligence, Placement Agreement, Confirmed Hours, Reviews, and Annex H).
  3. Information on students without mandatory Employability and Technical targets set, and students without a T Level Industry Placement.

You can access the report via Reports module > Placements > T Level Enrolments Report.

Terminology

  • Enrolment — the Navigate enrolment module used to manage T Level activity.
  • T Level Industry Placement — a specific placement type which includes a Placement Administration Dashboard.
  • T Level Reviews — mandatory initial, mid-point, and final reviews accessed via the Placement Administration Dashboard.
  • T Level Targets — Employability and Technical targets; collaboratively set learning goals directly linked to the T Level Industry Placement.

T Level Industry Placements — best practice

Using the following process to manage T Level Industry Placements will increase the quality of data in this report, resulting in an accurate overview of the status of students' T Level Enrolments and Industry Placements:

  1. Request T Level Industry Placement. Placement Coordinators request a placement from all students they are responsible for. This creates a blank placement record and changes the student to 'Awaiting Placement' status.
  2. Assign a T Level Employability Skills Self-Assessment if using it to assess placement readiness.*
  3. Set Target Hours. Set 315/750 target Employer confirmed hours and target Student confirmed hours. (Tick the boxes at the end of the first year to carry hours over to the second year.)*
  4. Add the student to a T Level enrolment — complete in bulk using the enrolment wizard.
  5. Set up the placement:
    • The Placement Type must be T Level Industry Placement or Industry Placement (this is in the placement type drop down in the placement details tab).
    • Link the T Level Industry Placement to the student's enrolment. If the placement is not linked, the hours will not contribute to the report.
    • Add T Level employability and T Level technical targets — use bulk upload or add directly in the targets tab of the T Level Industry Placement.
    • Link targets to the T Level Industry Placement. If bulk added, targets need to be linked to the placement for the information to display in the Placement Agreement (Annex E) and on Midpoint/Final reviews.

*Data not included in the report.

Access resources on the TrainingHub for guidance on how to complete each stage of the process. Use the DfE T Level Industry Placement Delivery Guidance for guidance on T Level Industry Placement requirements and utilisation of allowable approaches.

Reading the report dashboard

Each graph can be shown in a table by right clicking on the graph and choosing the 'Show as Table' option.

  1. Last refreshed date — displays when data was last updated.
  2. Attribute Filters — allows data to be filtered by student attribute data.
  3. Enrolment Start Date — filters data on enrolment start date. Current Academic Year = T Level first years; Previous Academic Year = T Level second years.
  4. Data:
    • Enrolments without a linked placement: The number of students with an enrolment, but no placement linked.
    • Placements without non-fundable breaktime: The number of placements where the breaktime is '0'. T Level placements MUST exclude breaktimes.
    • Students with Placements: The number of students with a pending, approved, or completed T Level Industry placement (excludes rejected).
    • Users with placements but no enrolment: The number of students with a T Level placement but no enrolment. Enrolment may not be required if the placement type is incorrectly allocated.
    • Placements with no linked targets: The number of students with no targets linked to their T Level placements. Targets MUST be linked to a placement to be displayed on the Placement Approval Form, mid-point, and final reviews.
  5. Live placement compliance status — displays employer compliance status for live T Level placements.
  6. Targets Linked to Enrolment graphs — displays the number of 'student enrolments' against the number of 'Employability and Technical targets' set. Clicking on the graph data filters the data grids to only show that data.
