Release notes for Sprint 7.1.37, released 5 December 2025. This update spans activities, placements, reports, targets, assessments and the Opportunities module.
Activities
1. Edit an Activity via the Tutor site. When staff add an activity, either against an individual or a group, they were previously only able to amend the activity type afterwards. They can now click Edit to amend the journal entry, skills developed, activity type and more. Edits can only be made to an individual activity record, not in bulk. When editing an activity, you can also add the activity to targets.
2. Extended Activity and EHCP listing to include 'Added By' and 'Last Updated By'. To allow colleges to see who added or edited an activity:
- Added By appears on an activity record when activities are added individually or in bulk (Student, Staff Name, or Data Feed for SFTP/SQL uploads).
- Last Updated By appears if an activity is edited by a staff tutor or student.
- Added By, Updated By and Date Updated columns have been added to the Activities reports.
- Activity records in the EHCP Module > Uncategorised Activities pop-up display the populated Added By data. These columns are especially helpful when students have edited or reflected on an activity added by staff.
3. Updated the Skills selector in the Student site. To match the staff site, students can now search for a skill from a search box and select multiple skills from the dropdown list when adding skills to an activity or journal entry.
4. 'Hide from Student timeline' now only selectable via label. This option was being selected incorrectly when closing the skills dropdown; it is now only selectable by clicking the label, and the activity record shows when it was selected.
Placements
5. Employer contact email made mandatory in the student placement wizard. When a student clicks 'My contact is not listed' while submitting a placement, the employer email is now mandatory and must be a valid email format, or an error is displayed. This allows staff to use Navigate as the primary method of contacting employers.
6. Added Placement Request Target Date to reports and the student record. This shows whether students are overdue in finding their placement based on the target date set when the placement was requested.
- The target date updates if Request Placement is completed again and a new target date is set.
- Target dates appear on the [Export_WorkPlacementsDetailed] SQL export table as PlacementRequestTargetDate.
- Target dates appear on the student's placement details form awaiting details (this text disappears once details are submitted).
- Target dates appear in the Students without Placements report, in the Students with Awaiting Placements data grid.
7. Resolved logic which incorrectly set the placement status. Clicking +Add Employer to Database on the employer tab both adds the employer and changes the placement to 'Placement request awaiting approval' status. If the employer is already on the college's database, delete the employer organisation name, type in the new employer details, and select the correct employer from the dropdown. The error preventing colleges from overriding employer information and changing the status has been fixed. (Note: when a student adds a new employer to their request, the placement goes to 'Requiring Confirmation of Employer Details' status, and placements cannot be approved in this status.)
8. Corrected logic for sending Placement Feedback to employers. Employer Work Experience Feedback Form emails were being sent while a placement was still at 'Pending Employer Details' status (not yet approved by the college or employer). As a result, a few employers received feedback emails for placements they had not approved and where the student had not started attending. This has been fixed.
Reports
9. Updated the Gatsby export to include placement and My Future quiz data. Two new fields have been added to the Gatsby Benchmark report:
- All placements (T Level and WEX) with confirmed hours are mapped to Gatsby benchmark 6.1. This includes each T Level Industry Placement and Work Placement at any status where there are employer or student confirmed hours in the academic year (1 placement = 1 activity). If students have multiple placements, all placements with confirmed hours in the academic year are included.
- Students with a completed My Future Career Quiz are mapped to Gatsby benchmark 2.1. Each student is added once per academic year.
- This data is included in the in-platform Gatsby Power BI report and the [Export_GatsbyBenchmarks] table.
10. Created a new My Futures SQL export. When a student completes a My Future Career Quiz, the job profiles were only viewable on the student profile and student site. Colleges can now report on this data via a new export table named Export_MyFuture.
Targets
11. Added a Status filter to the Targets tab in the student record (tutor site). The filter displays all statuses linked to the targets allocated to that student. Users can select more than one target status at a time, and the targets displayed update to show only the selected statuses, in Date Due order.
Assessments
12. Redesigned the Assessment tab in the student record. Some colleges require staff to complete assessments on behalf of students. Changes include:
- Completed and To Be Completed now show side by side in separate columns.
- Staff can remove assessments no longer required to be completed.
- Staff can assign an assessment to a single learner directly from the student record (previously only possible from the Students module > Actions > Assign an Assessment).
Opportunities module
13. Opportunities module updates:
- Students can now shortlist opportunities.
- Extended the Opportunities listing to include additional filters.
- Extended the Manage Applications dashboard to include student attribute filters.
- Added Employer Engagement as a new opportunity type.
- Extended the student advert text to include the opportunity dates.
- Updated opportunity cards to include the opportunity type.
- Added emails for opportunity application approval, rejection and allocation.
- Fixed the styling of the listed skills on an opportunity.
- Students can now save an opportunity application without marking it as submitted.
Other
14. Miscellaneous updates and fixes:
- Reviewed the performance of the Students listing on the tutor site.
- Updated the audit trail to refresh once an item (such as a note or document) is added.
- Resolved an issue where the approver was not set when bulk updating targets.
